Ahoy, matey!: Hugh Grant at ‘Pirates’ premiere

LONDON – Hugh Grant is stepping away from his usual romantic fare — to walk the plank.

The British actor is starring in “The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists,” his first animated film role. He will join co-stars David Tennant and Brian Blessed at the premiere in London on Wednesday.

Directed by Peter Lord and Jeff Newitt, the movie is the latest adventure from Aardman Animations, creators of “Wallace and Gromit.”

Grant plays Pirate Captain, whose quest is to win the Pirate of the Year award.

He takes his crew, voiced by Martin Freeman, Brendan Gleeson, Russell Tovey and Ashley Jensen, from Blood Island to London, helping David Tennant’s scientist along the way.

Isaac Simons Uses Fans’ ‘Draw Something’ Pictures To Create New Music Video

       

Music and technology have met once again in this new video from Los Angeles singer-songwriter Isaac Simons. He reached out to his fans to help him create the music video for his new single, “Call to Arms,” and they did so through a game you have probably played with your friends. You know the immensely popular Pictionary-esque app Draw Something? Well, Simons used more than 50 fan-made pictures from the game to make the “Call to Arms” visuals, which you can watch below. It’s pretty damn clever, though I’m not too excited about how many more of these we’ll be seeing in the next week.

“Modern Family” Cast Celebrates PaleyFest 2012

They have one of the hottest shows on television, and last night (March 14) the cast of “Modern Family” was honored at the Paley Center For Media’s PaleyFest 2012.

Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burell, Sarah Hyland, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould, Eric Stonestreet, and Ariel Winter all turned out for the shindig, held at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.

During her interview in the arrivals area, Sofia shared the plotline of an upcoming episode where her character Gloria pitches in to help Cameron and Mitchell.

“Well, of course, a translator because they’re trying to adopt a Latin kid, so she’s going to play a very important role, helping them get the kid.”

Yep, Snooki’s Pregnant — And Engaged

The rumors are now confirmed: Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is indeed pregnant, and she’s also engaged to her boyfriend, Jionni LaValle. Her rep tells CNN, “Nicole is thrilled to finally be able to share her happy news with her fans.”

Snooki, 24, tells Us Weekly that she’s 15 weeks along, having found out about the pregnancy after the New Year’s holiday.

The reality star admits to the magazine that her initial thought when she learned the news was “‘S***, I’ve been drinking!’ I was worried. It was New Year’s Eve and we were in Vegas, so I did go crazy.”

But for those who are concerned about how Snooki will reconcile being pregnant with her partying lifestyle, she says that she’s prepared to make some changes.
