AU – “Get Alive”

Portland experimental rockers AU have a new album called Both Lights coming next month, as we posted first taste Solid Gold way back in December. Below, weve got another song from the album. Its called Get Alive, and it makes great impressionistic use out of what sounds like a banjo and a harpsichord, not a combo we hear too often. Download it after the jump.

Target Pulls Card Poking Fun Of Whitney Houston

NEW YORK — Target is pulling a greeting card that makes fun of the late singer Whitney Houston’s penchant for bad boys.

The discounter said Wednesday the card was sold in its stores prior to Houston’s death on Feb. 11, and as soon as it was brought to the retailer’s attention, Target Corp. began “the process of removing the card.”

The card reads: “Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston.”

The text refers to Houston’s rocky relationship with ex-husband and singer Bobby Brown. Brown has been blamed by some for Houston’s reported drug use.

Rain and snow mix possible for Portland region overnight

PORTLAND — Get ready for another night of mixed winter weather. A mix of rain and also snow as low as 500 feet and above was likely overnight, said KGW Meteorologist Rod Hill.

“Once again tonight, as temperatures drop, many rain showers will transition into snow,” Hill explained. “The best chance of seeing a dusting or 1-2 inches of new snow will be in the hills above 500 feet.”

Temperatures were expected to remain above freezing so light accumulations would melt fast, and black ice was not expected to be a concern.

Hill added that conditions Thursday morning will be very similar to Wednesday morning, with scattered rain and snow. T

Video: Adele Flips Off Brit Awards Producers After Being Cut Off

Adele might have took home even more statues at the 2012 Brit Awards tonight in the U.K., but that doesn’t mean her trademark sassiness was going to stay under wraps. You see, she took home the award for Best British Album of the Year with 21 and was, of course, slightly flustered during her speech. But as she was talking, the show’s producers were trying to hurry her up so Blur could take the stage. As such, some of the employees actually joined her at the podium to cut her off, to which she responded with “Goodbye, and I’ll see you next time ’round, yeah?” Oh, and she also flipped the bird. Check the footage below. Could this be M.I.A.’s Super Bowl nonsense all over again?
