NEW YORK (AP) – Rob Lowe gives fellow Brat Packer Charlie Sheen a slight edge when it comes to partying.
Lowe tells Vanity Fair that in past days, he and Sheen “competed to see who could play harder, then show up for work.”
Lowe recently finished his autobiography and . He calls Sheen “a wonderful mix of nerd and rebel” and speaks of days when the two were relatively unknown actors who plotted their careers in Sheen’s pool.
Sheen has made headlines for his wild partying.

The 4-inch-tall vinyl doll with the aquarium for a head contains two chubby, bug-eyed puffer fish floating in shellac sea. In one corner of the tank is a tiny wire and nylon fishing net. Below the neck, the doll resembles a Japanese chef. One hand grasps a fillet knife.
Parkville artists Jim Lasher and Ayumi Yasuda are trying to replicate a typical puffer fish restaurant in miniature, so a second vinyl doll has been transformed into a beer vending machine. Inside the case are cans about the size of a shirt button, adorned with the labels of common Asian brands.
Clearly, the roughly three dozen art toys that will be exhibited at Vinylmore 4 in Hampden starting Friday aren’t your daughter’s Barbies and Kens.
“In the United States, we tend to think of toys as mass-produced, inexpensive items for kids,” says Benn Ray, the owner of Atomic Books, where the show is being held. Read full artilce…

Sylvester Stallone is getting into the fashion ring.The 64-year-old actor’s manly lifestyle brand Sly Inc. will consist of clothing, eyewear, fragrance, eyewear and accessories, all inspired by the characters he made famous: Rocky and Rambo, Women’s Wear Daily reported. “Rocky at the end of the day is a love story,” Michael Henry, a retail executive who is backing the brand, told Women’s Wear Daily.

GLENDALE, Calif. — A police spokesman says a small funeral service will be held for Elizabeth Taylor at a Southern California cemetery famous for being the final resting place for Hollywood celebrities.
Glendale police spokesman Tom Lorenz says Forest Lawn Cemetery officials called to request police assistance for the 2 p.m. Thursday service.
Lorenz says about four dozen family members are expected to attend the funeral, and there will be no procession for the screen legend.
Taylor died early Wednesday of congestive heart failure at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks.
The cemetery is the final resting place for Taylor’s good friend Michael Jackson and other stars like Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, W.C. Read full artilce…

A 21-year-old Lowry Park Zoo volunteer was arrested today after he touched a 9-year-old boy and then fondled himself inside a zoo restroom, the Tampa Police Department said. Cameron James Spurback of Tampa has been charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition and lewd and lascivious molestation, police said.
The boy went into a zoo restroom at around 2:15 p.m. and was approached by Spurback, who pulled the child’s pants down and then fondled him, police said. Spurb

April 22, 1980: Playwright Lanford Wilson stands outside of the Circle Repertory Theater where rehearsals are in progress for his new play “The War In Lebanon” in New York.
Lanford Wilson, the Tony Award and Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright of such plays as “The Hot L Baltimore,” “Burn This,” “Fifth of July” and “Talley’s Folly,” has died. He was 73.
The Steppenwolf Theatre said Thursday that Wilson died Wednesday at his home in Sag Harbor, N.Y.
